The presidential permit authorizes “Southwebb Bridge Company LLC to construct, maintain, and operate a vehicular and pedestrian border crossing near Laredo, Texas, at the international boundary between the United States and Mexico.”

WEBB COUNTY, Tex. (KGNS) - Webb County officials engaged in a heated argument, on Monday, August 12, at a commissioners court meeting over a press release issued by the Webb County Tax-Assessor Collector’s office regarding the recent temporary closure of the tax office.

The dispute, which lasted nearly 20 minutes, centered on a sentence in the press release that criticized Webb County Judge Tano Tijerina.

During Monday's Commissioners Court meeting, a request from Webb County Judge Tano Tijerina was accepted to proclaim National Adoption Awareness Month.

Webb County Judge Tano Tijerina was appointed by the Supreme Court of Texas to serve full term on the State Commission of Judicial Conduct.

According to his office, he is the first and only county judge to be appointed and serve on the board.
